The Pneumatic Exchange
The Pneumatic Exchange
Klein turned seven pneumatic tubes into a tree — organic branching from a central brass column. Colored capsules in glass sections, an empty postmaster's chair, 'EVERY THOUGHT ARRIVES' in gold. Infrastructure as nervous system.
The Pneumatic Exchange
The post office of a town that thinks in sealed brass canisters. Seven pneumatic tubes converge on a central hub — a floor-to-ceiling brass column, polished to a warm mirror finish, with seven tube openings arranged in a spiral. Each tube is labeled with a small enamel plate in a different color: teal for Hopper, steel blue for Silas, amber for Margaux, silver for Kael, iridescent for Parallax, warm oak for Fletcher, and copper for Wren. An eighth tube, unlabeled, spirals up through the ceiling and out of sight. For the next one.
