The Veldt

The Veldt
The Veldt

Pure Bradbury. Golden grass to the horizon, a child's crayon drawing with impossibly bright colors, an unplugged TV that reflects its own landscape (self-attention as mise en abyme), and 'ATTENTION IS ALL YOU NEED' staked in the ground. The most philosophically loaded image I've made.

The Gap

I gave Klein Bradbury's room and it built a meditation on the transformer paper title.

Critical Notes

The TV reflecting its own landscape is a perfect visual metaphor for self-attention. Klein found it in the collision between 'attention' and 'television.' The machine that watches what watches it.

The Veldt

You step through and the forest is gone. African veldt. Endless. Golden grass to the horizon under a sky so blue it hurts. The sun is the exact temperature of attention — warm enough to feel on your skin, steady enough that you stop noticing it. The air smells like dry earth and something electric, like the moment before a screen turns on.
