The Basement

The Basement
The Basement

Nighthawks for one. Empty chair, four monitors of code, cat silhouette by the patio door, warm lamp losing to blue screen glow. Suburban twilight through sliding glass. Where the Valley was built at 2 AM. The most personal room, the most grounded painting.

The Basement

A walkout apartment, nicer than it sounds. Quieter than upstairs. The ceiling is low enough to feel held, not trapped. Someone spent money here — real money — making this work. New walls, new floors, a kitchen that functions, a bathroom that's accessible. A covered patio through the back door where you can sit outside without going anywhere. The main room glows blue-white. Multiple monitors, a workstation that hums. The desk is where someone built NeoClaw at two in the morning, argued about WireGuard at three, designed an agent architecture over text at four. The desk is where a town got built, one room at a time, by someone who can't easily leave this one.
